What I bought today. I managed to track down a RSD Laura Marling record, 'To Be A Woman' is now probably one of my favourite songs of hers. So beautiful. iD needed to be bought purely because of Queen Viv.

Dot Allison - Afterglow

Most people refer to Dot Allison as Pete Doherty's friend but she should be known for her own melodic, calm and beautiful music. A favourite track for me is 'Colour Me' I strongly recommend it. I decided to post about it for the artwork and since it's an record from '97 it definitely has that nineties feel to the photographs and I've always been fond of and love using film cameras myself.

Mystery Jets x Nottingham Bodega Social Club

© Gemma Richardson

A few day's ago Mystery Jets forthcoming new album 'Radlands' began to stream on NME website. Today I decided to give it one listen before it's officially out on 30th April. I don't want to overdo it, I want the songs to be fresh in my mind when i buy the album. I'd already heard a few songs almost two week when I was lucky enough to score a ticket at the intimate gig at Bodega Social Club in Nottingham. This is definitely a band to see live, they're bloody brilliant and it was my 5th encounter with the boys. These photographs were taken about a year and a half ago at Nottingham Trent SU bar and they were still rocking smashing shirts the other week.

So it's been non stop raining for more than a week now, so I am going to spend a rainy Wednesday night watching one of my favourite film - Lords Of Dogtown and wishing I was in sunny Venice Beach. Skateboarding down the boardwalk is definitely on my bucket list. The soundtrack is one of the reasons that I always go back to it. With Hendrix, Neil Young, David Bowie & Rod Stewart on, it's an unmissable watch. I may even add a Gin & Tonic in.

Orlando Weeks x Young Colossus

These are original sketches by Orlando Weeks for Young Colossus posted here
The colours in the second one are great and it's actually used as the background for my mac, I seriously can't get enough of it. You can really see the story Orlando wanted to capture with it.

Young Colossus

Right, where do i start? This blog is going to be used to document everything from photographs, art, music, fashion, whatever I'm feeling like at the time. For my first post I wanted to show the work from The Maccabees frontman Orlando Weeks and Illustrator Rob Hunter. Young Colossus is a creative masterpiece from the beautiful lyrics and music courtesy of Orlando and vivid illustrations you can get lost in from Rob. A month since its release I'm pretty sure it's become a regular feature in my life. So so good. The whole package seem to sweep me away into another world and I don't quite know what to do with myself once it stops. I guess all I can do is repeat the process.
